RuggaMatrix Club Rugby Episode 001 - Welcome to the heartland

Many RuggaMatrix listeners have asked about our coverage of club rugby and we’ve decided to create a site completely devoted to grassroots rugby.

www.clubrugby.com.au initially is about the podcast, RuggaMatrix Club Rugby, but soon we’ll add match reports, previews, tables and a lot more.

This first show previews the 2009 Tooheys New Shute Shield with a comprehensive review of the laws and club line-ups.

We’ve spoken with all twelve clubs about their hopes and dreams for the year ahead.

Most of the interviews were recorded at the season launch, held at the Sydney Football Stadium on Monday.

Jamie McGregor, referee education coordinator for NSW Rugby joins Djuro Sen and Mark Cashman to clarify what law changes will be in play for season 2009. This is a must listen as Jamie clearly spells out what to expect.

Our weekly running time for RuggaMatrix Club Rugby is 40 minutes, show 001 is a little longer because we’re setting up the whole season.

Next week we’ll cover all the results and have a special guest from one of the clubs.

So join us each Tuesday on www.clubrugby.com.au. Please note that the iTunes service will be activated very soon. Follow RuggaMatrix on Twitter to keep up to date and subscribe to our www.clubrugby.com.au newsletter so you don’t miss a thing.

Note during the Stu Woodhouse interview we talk about Mark Tonga who suffered a serious spinal injury.

West Harbour and the wider rugby community have shown generous support raising funds to care for Mark.

This is an ongoing campaign so if you’ll like to contribute go to West Harbour Rugby’s contact us page
